Paperwing
The short version
Paperwing collects no personal information from anyone, children or grown-ups. No ads, no analytics, no tracking, no accounts. Your game progress stays on your devices and in your own iCloud, which we can't see. Apple handles purchases; we never receive your payment details. We don't sell or share anything, because we don't have anything.
1. Introduction
This Privacy Policy explains how Axiomic, LLC ("Axiomic", "we", "us", "our") handles information in connection with the Paperwing app for iPhone and iPad (the "App") and the website at playpaperwing.com (the "Site"; together, the "Service"). It is part of our Terms of Service. We built Paperwing for families, so we designed it to collect nothing.
2. Definitions
"Personal Information" means information that identifies, relates to, or could reasonably be linked with a particular person or household, such as a name, email address, device identifier, location or photo.
3. What Personal Information we collect
None. The App has no accounts or sign-in, shows no advertising, and contains no analytics, tracking, advertising or social software, from us or from anyone else. It does not send information to any server of ours. It does not ask for access to your camera, microphone, photos, contacts, location or other device data. That's why the App's App Store listing says Data Not Collected.
4. What stays on your device
To remember your game, the App keeps a small record on your device: which houses you've flown, your stars and best runs, the paper you've chosen, and settings such as sound and which side the slider is on. It does not identify you, and it never leaves your devices except as described in Section 5.
5. iCloud
If iCloud is turned on for the App, the same game record is kept in sync between your devices through Apple's iCloud, stored in your own iCloud account under Apple's privacy policy. We cannot access it. You can turn it off in your device's Settings under your name, then iCloud.
6. Purchases
The App offers one optional in-app purchase that unlocks every house. Purchases are processed entirely by Apple through the App Store. We never receive your name, Apple Account, or payment information. Apple tells the App only whether the purchase has been made, so the houses can unlock and Restore Purchases can work. Apple provides us sales reports that do not identify you. On a child's device, Apple's Ask to Buy (part of Family Sharing, in Settings under your name, then Family) lets a parent approve each purchase.
7. Information Apple may share with us
If you choose, in your device's settings, to share analytics with app developers, Apple may provide us with crash reports and aggregated usage statistics about the App that do not identify you. We use them only to fix bugs and improve the App. You can turn this off in Settings under Privacy & Security, then Analytics & Improvements.
8. When we share Personal Information
We don't have Personal Information to share. We do not sell or share Personal Information, including for cross-context behavioral advertising, and we never will.
9. Security and data retention
Because we collect no Personal Information, we store none and retain none. Your game record is protected by your device's own security and, if you use iCloud, by Apple's. This Site is served only over encrypted connections (HTTPS).
10. Your privacy rights
Depending on where you live, including California under the CCPA as amended by the CPRA, you may have the right to know what Personal Information is collected about you, to access, correct or delete it, and to opt out of its sale or sharing. We don't collect, sell or share Personal Information, so there is nothing for us to disclose, correct or delete, and nothing to opt out of. To erase your game progress, delete the App; to remove the iCloud copy too, turn off iCloud for the App before deleting it. If you believe we hold information about you, write to marc@axiomic.ai and we will respond.
11. International users
Axiomic is based in the United States. Because the Service collects no Personal Information, it does not transfer Personal Information across borders.
12. Children's privacy
Paperwing is made for the whole family, including children under 13. Because the App collects no Personal Information from anyone, it collects none from children, and we do not knowingly collect Personal Information from any child under 13 (the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act, "COPPA", applies to such collection). The App shows no advertising and contains no links a child can follow out of the game: the only links to this Site are on the App's grown-ups screen. If you believe a child has given us Personal Information, write to marc@axiomic.ai and we will delete it.
13. This website
The Site uses no cookies, no analytics and no tracking, and loads nothing from third parties (even its fonts are served from the Site itself). Our hosting provider may keep standard server logs, such as IP addresses, browser type and the pages requested, for a short time to operate and secure the Site. We don't use them to identify anyone.
14. Third-party links
The App and the Site may refer to Apple services such as the App Store, iCloud and Family Sharing, which are governed by Apple's privacy policy, not this one.
15. Do Not Track
Because the Service does not track you across other sites or apps, there is nothing for a Do Not Track signal to change.
16. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. We'll post the updated policy here with a new "Last updated" date, and for material changes we'll give notice in the App or on the Site before they take effect. If a change would ever mean collecting Personal Information, we will say so clearly and ask first.
